Chicken Wings & cHemistry

On a typical boneless wing day at Purdue's Hillenbrand dining court, Kate decided to split their order of wings for the opportunity to speak a second time to the cute and funny wing-prepper behind the counter.

A few weeks later, Natalie noticed a purple gremlin sitting in the empty dining court. As she clocked out, Nat walked up to the booth the gremlin was sitting at and asked "
Do you mind if I sit here? There's nowhere else to sit." After a Jenna Marbles video was graciously paused, the two finally got to know each other, getting lost in a conversation so deep that introductions were forgotten.

Chicken wings and post-chemistry conversations were had three more times before introductions were finally remembered, allowing Kate to learn the Wing Prepper's name, and Nat the name of the Purple Gremlin.

Ever since, the two were inseparable.

Noodles & Co.uples

On a dark and not stormy, but definitely rainy night, Nat and Kate went on an adventure with their friends to Noodles & Co. for dinner. Walking through the rain, people naturally paired off into couples (dating and not dating). Nat proceeded to comment on it to Kate. The conversation has been transcribed below:

N: Isn't it weird how people just naturally pair off with their people when they're in a big enough group?

K: What do you mean?

N: *Pointing out each couple from the group walking in a line on their way to dinner.*

See? Couple, Couple, Couple, Couple -

*Points to Nat and Kate walking at the back of the group together.*

Couple.

K: Couple?

N: *Grabbing Kate's hand * Couple.

K: Okay :)

And then they dated.

Tuition Benefits

In the Summer of 2021, the two began to joke about getting married. After all, it was one of the only ways to get Kate in-state tuition at Purdue. This joke soon snowballed into a frantic search for an officiant, a day before the couple would head to the court house. Many records of this day have been lost to time, however one picture remains from the original special day:

DOING IT AGAIN

Because we eloped, two days prior to our fifth anniversary we will be hosting our "true wedding" to finally celebrate our love with the friends and family who have made an impact on our lives.
